Kong, A happy ending CINEMA 4D, Painter, ZBrush May 2008
This simple little joke was inspired by all those celebrity mugshots with their characteristically disheveled appearance, and that expression of shock, disbelief, embarrassment and startled defiance.
Modeled in ZBrush, rendered in Zbrush and C4D and finished in Painter, he started life as a commission for an Ad, but budget restrictions meant that they ended up wanting only Kong's hand! I had been rather looking forward to doing my version of Kong so I decided have a go, with a view to submitting it for consideration in Expose 6.
I have been fortunate enough to have him included in the book.
Now, if only the big lug had listened to reason, he might be getting out by now!
